Strategic Planning Workshop

Luma Services offers a workshop that will help you and your team identify and set objectives, sort success steps and develop associated roadmaps to ensure focus and engagement throughout the year.

The workshop is designed to support teams in creating a shared vision and associated action plans. Developing plans together ensures understanding and commitment lifting the productivity of any team.

Prior to the workshop, Luma Services will meet with you to understand your needs and challenges. From there, we will help you determine how to best collect feedback from your internal customers and support the collection of that feedback. We will also interview all workshop participants asking each participant specific questions developed based on your particular situation.

Over 3 half-day sessions, your team will gain clarity and commitment as we facilitate the development of your annual team plan.

Following the workshop Luma Services will create your team’s resulting roadmap. The roadmap will not only communicates to the rest of the organization what your team is committing to accomplish but also serves as a highly effective management & engagement tool.

Luma Services 2012 Holiday Party

It’s hard to believe another year has passed but it has and it was celebrated by the Luma Services team, friends and family on January 12, 2013. Pictures of the event can be found on the Luma Services Facebook page.

2012 marked another year of growth for Luma Services and it’s not stopping there. The company has plans to expand the number of clients it is engaged with in 2013. Luma Services will also be launching a Data Services focus and competency center to round out their Program Services core competencies.

The company remains committed to working with only the best local resources helping to ensure the success of local companies which, in turn, serves the Omaha community.

2012 IIBA Conference Success

Congratulations to the IIBA Heartland Chapter on hosting another successful Business Analysis Conference! The numbers keep growing and the conference continues to deliver value. The Endnote this year was delivered by Luma Services’ co-founder, Paula Mau, who provided an overview explaining why this is the era of the analysts – especially those who can lead through change.

Because of the increased rate of change and the associated complexities of those changes, people that can lead others through the adoption of new ways of working are invaluable to organizations. What research shows us is that the “must have” competency for influencing change adoption is analytical strength.

2012 Golf Event Results

The 2012 Appreciation Golf Outing was a great success! To those in attendance, how much fun was that? Congratulations to all of the winners and thank you to everyone for making the day so much fun. Through mulligan sales and additional contributions, we raised nearly $3000 for Omaha’s Youth Emergency Services!

Luma Services was happy to present First Aid Kits to the Millard Athletic Association on June 1, 2012. These kits are now placed at several of the Millard Athletic Association softball fields in the Omaha area.

BA Certification Program Announced

Luma Services is excited to announce the introduction of Business Analysis Tools and Techniques(BATT) Certification Program. Luma Services associates, including Senior Consultants Carol Novich and Lori Sheppard, developed the program with training specialists from Your Clear Next Step to address specific challenges for today’s project team members.

“The BATT certification program has been developed to align business analysis with the role of the BA, the expectations of project team and the business. Hit it out of the park more often. Become BATT certified.”

This program can be scheduled by organizations for closed or open enrollment.

What’s In a Name

It’s not always obvious what a company’s logo represents. For Luma Services, it’s both a play on words and a specific design to reflect the company’s over-arching objective of “creating clarity” which is our tag line. Hear more about the Luma Services brand here.

The play on words: Luma is a mash-up of the founders’ and owners names, Lewis and Mau.

How do you get “Creating clarity” out of the logo? Just like this:
